Mesa and Cafe Strange Brew team up to open new bakery in Glasgow’s East End

The team behind popular brunch spots Mesa and Cafe Strange Brew are opening a brand new bakery in Dennistoun.

Called Sweet Jane, after the Velvet Underground song , it will be launching on Duke Street, across the road from Mesa. Opening date for Sweet Jane is the beginning of March.

Laurie MacMillan, who also owns southside cafe Strange Brew, and Mesa co-owner Andrea Bartolini have teamed up with John Meechan. John has who an impressive background having worked at Ottolenghi and NOPI restaurants in London.
